We are a successful commercial printing company in Santa Rosa, CA. We are looking for a strong performer that can support outside sales people. The right person for this job will build strong customer relationships and allow our outside sales people to focus on new business which the planner/CSR delivers a great product to their existing customers.
As a Production Planners/CSR you are responsible for the planning and management of print projects in an effort to meet customer deadlines and quality within acceptable cost standards. You check product specifications, make plan adjustments, and monitor the quality of the product.
The Production Planner/CSR coordinates with other production departments, customer account managers and with customers, for example to discuss changes to specifications. You also attend regular production meetings with the production manager and other planners.
The Production Planner/CSR works in or coordinates with five areas of the production cycle:
Order Entry where orders are entered into the workflow management system;
Planning specifications and actual artwork are reviewed to develop an efficient detailed production and material resource plan. This includes the planning and coordination of required external resources.

Overview of Responsibilities: The Production Manager is responsible for managing all press/postpress production plant operations, including supervision of all staff, equipment and materials used within the Pressroom and Postpress departments, along with all finished product delivery/pickup and shipping activities, as well as for monitoring prepress plating schedules and having production workflow responsibility over all job specific outside service buyouts.
Key Objectives: To manage the production of high-quality printed products for our customers utilizing staff, equipment and materials resources in the most efficient and productive manner, while focusing on making and meeting scheduling/product quality commitments as required to serve customers needs and expectations, and to do so while fostering a safety-conscious, high-energy and positive-attitude workplace for all employees.
Primary Duties:
1) Responsible for the day-to-day scheduling of all pressroom and postpress department employees, along with all production job workflow throughout the plant and at outside buyout vendors, including the daily cutting/staging of all paper and work-in-progress press sheets, scheduling and staging of all plates/camera ready art, and any other job specific material, such as special inks, dies, foil, etc, involved in all litho and letterpress pressroom activity to bindery/finishing and qc/packing operations, and through to final product warehousing, shipping and delivery.
2) Responsible for monitoring day-to-day product quality control and job efficiency at all stages through the press and postpress production processes, along with maintaining and refining, as necessary, all workflow methods, protocols and procedures with applicable production staff and other supporting staff as needed.
3) Responsible for investigating production problems that create additional expense and/or loss of revenue and for generating Problem Job Reports that are aimed at identifying pattern areas for performance improvement, and then recommending and taking appropriate corrective action where necessary to meet company objectives.
4) Responsible for proactively deciding when to use overtime and non-billable work or time-off to meet customer commitments or production scheduling efficiency, and for assigning all work/time-off to all press/postpress staff.
5) Responsible for reviewing, approving and managing the successful completion of all buyout purchases for outside bindery, finishing, packaging and shipping services.
6) Responsible for all supplies inventory control and purchasing of all supplies and parts equipment being used within the Pressroom and Postpress departments.
7) Responsible for the smooth operation, prev. maintenance/cleanliness and repairs of all pressroom and postpress production equipment and required plant facilities, including the company van.

Primary Purpose of Role
Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely finished goods inventory records managing the Inventory Control team, and working very closely with Plant Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Finance. IT and all warehouse personnel (both internal and external 3PL providers). Manages, maintains and develops procedural and training documentation, inventory reports and KPOs. Manages and facilitates physical inventory and cycle counting activities including all company sites wineries (7), production facilities and all third party locations in the U.S. and Canada. This includes 3PLs in Napa, bailment states (Utah, N.H., and MS) in conjunction with the 2 Liqueur Boards in Western Canada (B.C. and Alberta). Stays abreast of vintage transitions and short supply situations and proactively seeks to optimize order fulfilment and customer satisfaction. Monitors the day-to-day deployment of finished goods from plants to distribution centres, and responsible for daily customer order fill rates. Responsible for monthly monitoring of supply/demand variances, and for making allocation recommendations. Responsible for the timely disposition of obsolete inventory and the integrity of data that is being supplied to RSS for SLOB activity management. Responsible for maximizing inventory turns and customer service level. Responsible for leadership and oversight of inventory control staff.

Responsible for North American inventory control function that manages multiple locations with average 4M cases of finished goods valued at $140M.
Oversees the management of the integrity of finished goods inventory across all sites/locations. This includes wineries, manufacturing sites and 3PLs located across No America.
Oversees the management of the reconciliation of all transfers of product (production and warehouse moves) in JDE and our WMS system MARC.
Oversees the management of the conduct of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly stock counts as needed.
Investigates discrepancies and facilitates all necessary corrective action (system, people and/or process).
Manages the coordination of obsolete, lost, damaged inventory activities.
Works collaboratively with other team members to drive excellence in inventory control and operational effectiveness.
Trains staff and ensures thorough understanding/ compliance across sites.
Establishes and publishes management reports and measures.
